"Paper Light" is a kinetic sculpture filled with childlike whimsy and ritualistic charm. Composed of paper lanterns, yoga balls, felt, and soft fibers, the piece gently trembles and rotates through a hidden mechanical system—resembling a blooming alien plant or an awakening extraterrestrial being.
It looks like a flower, yet also like a comical little shrine, swaying clumsily and solemnly in a dance for no audience. The piece transforms bodily instability into a sense of rhythm and vitality. Its delicate trembling mimics both breath and the awkward pause of a stifled laugh—evoking fragile joy, the absurdity of rituals, and the boundless imagination of childhood.
This is a sculpture that thinks while spinning, blossoms while wobbling—a flower offered to freedom and poetry.
